the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow,
stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so?
It came without ribbons. It came without tags.
It came without packages, boxes or bags.
And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.
What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store.
What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” —Dr. Seuss
Now is the perfect time to praise you for your interest in Vision First and Janet’s Journal. Your help and support is making a difference to us and our cause. Thank you!
Here is another way you can help us this holiday season: We are currently working to add Illinois’ new eye exam requirement to our Vison First form.
Public support will show the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) our form is needed and wanted.
Make a difference here: Download the “petition-on-paper” and ask your family and friends to sign at your next holiday gathering. We are not tracking the names and addresses. Petitions will be sent by Vision First only to IDPH once Second Notice is called for public comments. The full petition can be viewed here.
Please note: You can sign the petition-on-paper and the petition-on-line together! Also, feel free to download this great flyer.
For further information, please visit “What’s New” on our Vision First website. I hope you will also join our “Kids Eyes Count” email list for updates and important news!

Again, thank you for all your help and support. Together, we are making a difference in the eyes of a child.
May your holiday and 2009 be blessed with peace, love, joy and all your new year wishes come true!
“There is no force so powerful as an idea whose time has come.” —Everett Dirksen

Michael, Jossie, and Regina…thanks for your kind words. It’s not easy being an advocate and challenging the “status quo.” Great people like you though remind me that Vision First IS making a difference! God bless you, too!
